Lookup Tables

Lookup tables identify log mnemonics, units, and scale factors. These tables are located in your WinPICS Profiles directory (C:\WinPICS Profiles).

The following six lookup tables are included in your profiles directory. You can open the files with WordPad and edit them.

• DENSITYMN - Density Log Mnemonics
• DENSITYUN - Density Log Units
• DEPTHMN - Depth Log Mnemonics
• DEPTHUN - Depth Log Units
• SONICMN - Sonic Log Mnemonics
• SONICUN - Sonic Log Units

Synthetics error

WinPICS may display an error when trying to display a synthetic panel. View image

If WinPICSdisplays this error, you need to check the mnemonic for the sonic log in your input LAS file.

1. Browse to your WinPICS Profiles directory.
2. Open your LAS file in WordPad and check the ~Curve Information Section. It should look as follows:

3. Open the lookup table SONICMN.LUT in WordPad and check to see if sonic mnemonic is included in the list. If the mnemonic is not included, add it in quotes at the bottom of the list (case sensitive). Check to see that sonic units are included as well.
4. Save the file.
5. Close and reopen ProductName, in order to load the revised tables.
