Isochron and Amplitude Ratio Maps

Isochron and amplitude ratio maps are created by posting a horizon to the Map window and selecting a reference horizon.

ProductName subtracts the reference horizon from the posted horizon for an isochron map, or divides the posted horizon by the reference horizon for an amplitude ratio map.

The calculation is fast and allows you to quickly view other isochrons and amplitude ratios between the reference horizon and other horizons in the database.

Calculating and posting isochrons and amplitude ratio maps

  1. In the Object Manager bar, open the Horizon tab.
  2. Double-click one of your horizons to post it in your map display.
  3. On the Posting Status toolbar, select a horizon from the Reference box. This horizon will be the reference horizon ProductName uses in the calculation. The isochron will appear in the Map view.
  1. To see an amplitude ratio map, open the Map menu bar and select Post | Post Horizon/Fault | Amplitude. Return to the isochron map by selecting Post | Post Horizon/Fault | Time.
  2. To end isochron or amplitude ratio posting, open the Map menu bar and select Post | Reference Horizon/Fault for Isochron | Clear Reference Horizon/Fault.
