Add a New User Defined Top

Follow these steps to add your own formation top to the selected well:

1. Click <Add> in the Edit User Defined Tops dialog box. GeoVista will add a new blank line to the bottom of the formation summary table.

2. Click in the Formation field, and type the formation's abbreviated name.
3. Press <Enter> on your keyboard to open the Formation Selection dialog box, where you can select the formation's match (if applicable).
4. After you set the match, GeoVista returns to the formation summary table and fills in the details for the Long Description (it uses the same name as the formation you matched; otherwise, it uses the same name you entered in Formation). As well, it enters into the Author field the Current User's author initials (as selected at the bottom of the Edit User Defined Tops dialog box). The remaining fields display 0.0.
5. Enter values for the top's MDMeasured Depth, MSMeasured Subsea Depth , TVDTrue Vertical Depth, and TVSTrue Vertical Subsea Depth fields.

• If you select the Calculate Deviated Wells check box, you can enter the MD and TVD depths first, and GeoVista will auto-calculate the corresponding subseaThe distance from sea level to a formation top depths, or vice versa.

6. Enter in the Comments field any remarks you want to store with the formation top.
