Print Options

Use this tab to set GeoVista's default print layout template.

The Print Options tab has the following options:

Printer - In this section, GeoVista displays information about your selected printer. If you want to change these settings, click <Properties> to open the Page Setup dialog box. To change to another printer, select an option from the Name list.
The Name list only displays printers that are currently set up on your PC.
Saved Templates - Select this option to print your map according to the settings in a saved template.
Creating a template is a good idea if you frequently print your map in a format different than the standard template. Read more
A New Blank Template - Select this option to print your map on a blank page. With this option, your map will not have a legend or an author's block (but you can add those items later if you want). The blank template sets a percentage of the page as the available space for the map. As you change the paper size using <Printer/Page Setup>, this available space size also changes.
A New Standard Template - This option works the same way as selecting A New Blank Template, except that your map will print with a legend and author's block.
GeoVista always displays the settings for your currently selected page and map size at the bottom of the Selected Template tab. You should check these settings before you apply a new template to make sure that your chosen template will fit the size of your map. Otherwise, your print-out might generate unexpected results, such as a very tiny map in the corner of a very large plotter paper size.
Copies - Set how many copies of your map you want to send to the printer.
