Auto Fix Options

Use the Auto Fix Options dialog box to specify how much freedom to give the wizard in interpolating and extrapolating shotpoint and x/y values as it creates coordinate files.

You can also set parameters for error/warning messages and reports. The Auto Fix Options dialog box is accessed in the Fix 2D Coordinate Import dialog box during 2D Coordinate Import or 2D Survey Import. View image

Enable or disable options for SEG-Y files that present special problems. Enable options by placing a check mark in the box; disable options by removing the check mark next to the entry. Click <OK> to apply changes or click <Cancel> to discard changes.

We recommend that you leave all warning messages, error messages, and reports enabled.

Example

If XY is enabled under Interpolate/Extrapolate Duplicate XY Coordinate, the wizard will interpolate x/y’s when it encounters a duplicate x/y coordinate. Select the Shotpoint check box if you also want the wizard to interpolate shotpoint values when it encounters duplicate x/y coordinates.

Shotpoint Var Tolerance - Warnings are issued if shotpoint numbers vary more than the amount set here. The default setting of ‘0.2’ is usually appropriate. For example, if shotpoint numbers are running ‘101, 101.5, 102, etc.’, a warning would be issued if the next shotpoint number were ‘103’.
Distance Var Tolerance - Warnings are issued if the distance between consecutive shotpoints exceeds this amount. For metric coordinate systems, ‘2’ is usually appropriate. For imperial coordinate systems, you may want to set this values to ‘6’.
