Import DXF Files

• WinPICS requires *.DXF input files to be in AutoCAD R12 format or earlier.

Follow these steps:

1. From the Applicationtoolbar select |Import Map Overlays | Import DXF.
2. Select Open DXF File.. and browse to the source .DXF file using standard Windows commands. Use the down arrow next to Files of type: to select from all files if your file extension is not ‘.dxf’. Click <Open>.
3. The Import DXF to Map Overlay window will open.
4. Toggle on Coordinate Conversion if you need to change the map projection of the imported layer.
5. Select from one of the three layer options:

• Save as Single File - Merges all layers into one and creates as a single Overlay layer
• Save each layer as Overlay - Each layer is saved as individual Overlays.
• Save each layer as Underlay - Each layer is saved as individual Underlays.

• Colors, line types, and text sizes can be modified after import using the Drawing Properties editing tool.
