Import DXF Files
- WinPICS requires *.DXF input files to be in AutoCAD R12 format or earlier.
Follow these steps:
- From the Applicationtoolbar select .
- Select Open DXF File.. and browse to the source
.DXF file using standard Windows commands. Use the down arrow next to
Files of type: to select from
all files if your file extension is not ‘.dxf’. Click <Open>.
- The Import DXF
to Map Overlay window will open.
- Toggle on Coordinate Conversion
if you need to change the map projection of the imported layer.
- Select from one of the three layer options:
- Save as Single
File - Merges all layers into one and creates as a single Overlay
layer
- Save each layer
as Overlay - Each layer is saved as individual Overlays.
- Save each layer
as Underlay - Each layer is saved as individual Underlays.
- Colors, line types, and text sizes can be modified after import using
the Drawing Properties editing
tool.
