Import GeoReferenced Images

Follow these steps to import a GeoReferenced image onto your map:

  1. From the Application toolbar, select | Import Georeferenced Images to open the Import GeoReferenced Images dialog box. View image

  1. From the Format Name list, choose the type of image you want to import. You have the following options:

*.BMP

Bitmap

*.ADF

Arc/Info Compressed Wavelets

*.JPG

JPEG JFIF

*.PNG

Portable Network Graphics

*.TIF

GeoTIFF

  1. Click <Add> to launch the Open dialog box and locate your image file.
  2. Click <Open> to add the file to the Source File box. View image

  1. In the Source File box, select the file you added.
  2. Click <File Info> to open the Info dialog box, where you can examine the data in the image file. View image

  1. Close the Info dialog box.
  1. Click <Import> to load the file into your WinPICS Map window. The Info dialog box will show you if the import was successful. View image

  1. Click <X> to close the Info dialog box, and click <Close> to close the Import GeoReferenced Images dialog box. Your Mapwindow should now display your image. View image
