Attributes
In Seismic Data Displays
WinPICS calculates instantaneous
amplitude, frequency, and phase, apparent polarity, and the cosine of instantaneous phase on the fly and displays them on your seismic window.
Display one attribute in color, and the other with an overlaid wiggle display.
By default, both the active and inactive attributes are the seismic amplitude.
You can display two attributes at a time: one active,
and the second inactive. If you
pick on an attribute display, the values of the active attribute will
be written to your pick file. The attribute display is scaled for maximum
dynamic range.
Available Attributes
The following attributes are available WinPICS :
- Seismic amplitude
- Instantaneous amplitude
- Instantaneous phase
- Cosine of Instantaneous phase
- Instantaneous frequency - optional calculation
parameters can be set
- Apparent polarity
Displaying Attributes
- Select a color display
mode with an overlaid wiggle trace:
- Overlaid Wiggle AreaO
- Overlaid Wiggle o
- Colored AreaC
- From the select | .
- Select which attribute you would like to be the active attribute. That is, which
attribute you would like to be the source for your amplitude picks. Select
the inactive attribute. This is,
the attribute you would like to be displayed but not picked as an amplitude.
Choose to display each attribute as a wiggle or in color.
- You can set the upper frequency limit
and the smoothing gate for instantaneous frequency by clicking on <Options> in the attribute window. Enter an upper limit between
0 and 250 Hz and a smoothing gate between 0 and 100 ms.
- You can use the Copy
And Paste parameters to transfer your attribute display parameters to new seismic window.
- The status line in the lower
left-hand corner of the main window reports
the values for the active attribute as you pass your cursor over the seismic
window.
