Display Attribute

WinPICS calculates instantaneous amplitude, frequency, and phase, and apparent polarity ‘on the fly’ and displays them on your seismic window. Display one attribute in color and the other with an overlaid wiggle display. By default, the active attribute is seismic amplitude and there is no inactive attribute.

You can display two attributes at a time: an active one for picking, and a second for display only. If you pick on an attribute display, the values of the active attribute will be written to your pick file. The attribute display is scaled for maximum dynamic range. View image

Seismic amplitude
Instantaneous amplitude
Instantaneous phase
Instantaneous frequency - optional calculation parameters can be set
Apparent polarity
Co-sine of Instantaneous phase

Display only an Active Attribute

To display only an active attribute, select an attribute from the First Attribute for Picking list.

Click <Options> to select a different data version.

Display both an Active and Inactive Attribute

To display both an active and inactive attribute, follow these steps:

Select an attribute from the First Attribute for Picking list.
Select an attribute from the Second Attribute for Display Only list.
In the Second Attribute for Display Only section, select Wiggle or Color. The other option will automatically be selected under First Attribute for Picking.

Click <Options> to set the upper frequency limit and the smoothing gate for instantaneous frequency. Enter an upper limit between 0 and 250 Hz and a smoothing gate between 0 and 100 ms.
