Select a SEG-Y Version

Display different versions of your seismic data without leaving the Seismic window. You can change your version the following ways:

In the Map window, right-click on the seismic line or fence panel and select SEGY Version.
In the Seismic window main menu, select Select | Change Seismic Data Version (SEGY).

The Choose Version dialog box opens. Select the version you wish to display and click <OK>.

New versions are created in two ways:

By importing different processing versions of your data;
By selecting to process a new seismic version after phase rotating or filtering your seismic data.

Each version of your data is assigned a different file extension. See Version Names for SEG-Y Data for details on file naming conventions. The version with the highest extension number is displayed by default.

16-bit data example

.YD0 is the original SEG-Y version you imported with the WinPICS Import Wizard.

.YD1 is the first filtered seismic line.

.YD2 is the second filtered seismic line, etc.

You may pick data on any version, but only one set of picks is saved for each seismic line. Click <History File> to display the processing history of a particular SEG-Y version.
