In the Edit User Defined Tops dialog box, when you edit a top (other than one that belongs to the current user), GeoVista makes a copy of the top and displays the current user's name in the new top's Author field.
For example, you might want to edit a ministry tops' measured depth because you happen to know a slightly different value for that depth. When you delete the old value and enter a new one, GeoVista creates a copy of the top with the new value and the current user's Author name.
GeoVista remembers that the top you entered is now a duplicate, even though it has a different depth. Therefore, when you click <Save Tops> to refresh the summary table, GeoVista will display the copy of the top that is highest in precedence (if you selected the Use Order of Precedence check box in the User Preference dialog box).
