Edit Well Formation Tops
GeoVista gives you the option
to edit well formation tops to your preference. When you save your tops,
GeoVista copies your changes
in your user tops database, so that you can quickly retrieve you tops
information or share your tops data with other users. The following steps
show you how to edit a well's formation top.
- To proceed, have your systems administrator configure
your user tops database. Read

- Launch GeoVista,
and open a session with a well layer. (You may need to create a query.

- Right-click on a well result
in the Object Manager
bar's Result
List tab, and select Edit
User Tops.
- Click <Yes>
to copy the well's formation top data into your user tops database.
- Make changes in the Edit User Defined Tops
dialog box. After each change, press <Enter> on your keyboard. When you are finished, click <Save Tops> to apply your changes to your user tops database, and <Close> to return to the
ticket.
- The next time you look at
the formation tops in this well's ticket, you will see your changes identified
with your author abbreviated name.
- If you do not see
your formation top, it may be because your author name is not selected
in the User Preference
dialog box, or because you selected the Use
Order of Precedence check box, but your name is not the highest
in the list. Click <User Preference> and adjust your
settings.
