Import User Tops
If you have a file of formation tops (for example, formation tops you
exported from another program, or your company's formation database),
you can import them into your GeoVista
tops database.
- If you have not set up where GeoVista
should look for the database, you will see the message You
must set up the user tops database first, and GeoVista
will automatically open the Data
Link Properties dialog box. Contact your systems administrator
to set up the database.
Follow these steps to import user tops:
- From the Main Menu bar, select File
| Import User Tops to open the Identify
User dialog box.
- Select a user name from the
list, and click <OK> to
proceed to the Enter
Password dialog box.
- Only users set up as Super Users
appear in this list.
- Enter the user password (as
set up by the administrator), and click <OK>
to proceed to the Open
dialog box.
- Search for your database
file (),
and click <Open> to proceed
to the Select
Unit and Data Type dialog box. Read
how to set up *.csv files.
- You will get an error when you try to import from a file that is
not properly set up.
- Set your import options and
click <OK> to import the
files into your user tops database.
