Assign Checkshot
When a checkshot is imported or hand entered for a well it is saved
to the checkshot database. You may assign a checkshot in the database to other wells.
Follow these steps to assign a checkshot to a well:
- Select
| from the Application toolbar.
- In the Well Spot Database, select the well(s) you're interested in.
- Select <Checkshot> | and select
a checkshot from the drop down list. By default, the checkshot will be given the name of the UWI of the well it's assigned to. If your database already has a checkshot of that name, you will be prompted to overwrite, or accept a new name (original name_#).
- You may need to edit
the Reference Elevation for the checkshot so that it will be appropriate
for the well you are working with. This changes the reference stored with
the checkshot. It is best to use a "neutral" reference elevation
for your time and depth value such as Seismic Datum or Sea Level. This
way you can assign checkshots to multiple wells without having to edit
the reference elevation each time the checkshot is used. The reference
elevations for time and depth values can be any of the following:
- Below Kelly bushing
- Below Seismic Datum
- Below Sea Level
- Below a User Defined Elevation
- Above Sea Level (Sub Sea Elevation)
