Extract Attributes

WinPICS can take the seismic horizon or grid horizon information stored in the Well Spot Database dialog box and project it back into the well database as a top attribute. Follow these steps:

  1. In the Well window, click to select the well(s) from which you want to extract the information.
  2. Click <TOPS Functions> | Extract Attributes to open the Extract Attributes at Well Locations dialog box. View image

  1. In the Input section, select the type of information from which you want to extract your attributes: Horizons, Grids, or select All to see both. You will see this information in the window at the left of the dialog box.
  2. Click on the horizon or grid you want to use; it will appear highlighted.
  3. If you selected a horizon, proceed to the Horizon Value section, and choose if you want to extract that horizon's Time or Amplitude value.
  4. In the Tops section, you have two options: choose to add this value to an existing top, or create a new top to hold the value. If you choose an existing top, WinPICS will overwrite the top with the new information. If you're not sure you want to do that, you should create a new top by typing a name in the first field and clicking <+>. To select an existing top, click the arrow next to the second field, and choose your top from the list.
  5. In the Top's Attributes section, you need to select an attribute. Again, you can either type a new attribute into the first field and click <+>, or you can select an existing attribute from the list in the second field.
  6. When you finish configuring the settings, click < >> > to move the new top attribute into the Output section.
  7. If you want to extract more attributes, repeat these steps to continue adding top attributes to the Output window.
  8. When you finish adding attributes, click <OK> to open the Select Max Projection Distance (UTM) dialog box, where you can enter how far the angle projection is from the point to the line. View image
