TOPS Functions- Overview

From the Well Spot Database dialog box, click <TOPS Functions>, or from the Edit TOPS dialog box click <TOPS>, to access the following tops management operations and computations:

• Extract Attributes
• Compute Seismic Time At Well
• Compute Well Time
• Compute Velocities
• Compute Depth Control Points
• Copy MD / TVD | Copy MD into TVD

Select this option to copy your values from the TOPS MD column into the TOPS TVD column.

• Copy MD / TVD | Copy TVD into MD

Select this option to copy your values from the TOPS TVD column into the TOPS MD column.

• Compute TVD from MD Using Deviation Survey

Select this option to configure WinPICS to compute the true vertical depth (TVD) for any wells you work with, using the selected wells that have a deviation survey loaded on them. The deviated paths vary, so the value generated may not be unique. However, it will be correct for each MD value.

• Compute MD from TVD Using Deviation Survey

Select this option to configure WinPICS to compute the measured depth (MD) for any wells you work with, using he selected wells that have a deviation survey loaded on them. The value generated will be unique. However, it may only be correct for one TVD value.

• Associate Horizons
• Delete Tops
• Add Top/Bot of hole
• Rename Tops

• If the distance between the top and bottom hole locations is less than 25 meters, and there is no deviated survey, WinPICS uses the surface hole location for posting tops attributes and gridding tops.
