SeisX PHA Tops
WinPICS provides a pre-processor to parse out Tops information from
SeisX ASCII well-spot files.
To import SeisX ASCII Tops
- On the Applicationtoolbar select |. The Well
Spot Database dialog box will open. It contains a list of the wells in
your project and their properties.
- Highlight the wells you want to import
TOPS for, and click on . (Multi-selection of wells can be accomplished by using
the <Shift> and <Ctrl>
keys)
- Select the source file for your well tops using
standard Windows commands. In the File
Format: box, select .
- Click <Open> to pre-process the TOPS from the well-spot file. The Define ASCII
Format dialog box will open.
- At
the top right of the dialog find the pull down menu for Format
Name. Select KERNEL.
Check the Parsed
Output display to confirm that the Well_ID, TOP_Name and MD_Depth
information
is displayed correctly.
- Click <OK>
to proceed to the Define Well TOPS Source
Units dialog box. Specify the depth (MD or TVD), time and velocity
format for the fields contained in the input file.
- Click <OK> to continue. The Associate
selected wells with TOPS dialog box will open. A check mark will display
a successful match between the selected well and TOPS file.
- You may force
an association by selecting a specific well and clicking <Select
TOPS File>
- Click <OK> to
continue. This will open the Associate
TOPS with Horizons dialog box. WinPICSwill automatically cross-reference any TOPS detected in the file
with the existing horizons located in the project.
- Click <OK>
to continue.
- Once the well tops import is complete, click <Save> to save the well-spot database.
