on the .Text can be added to a map by defining a text guideline on your base map:
From the Map window, left click on the Draw

Your mouse pointer will be displayed as a pencil within your map window. Left click on the map to set the first point, drag a line across the map to define the text guideline and left click to complete the segment.
A window appears once you've released the left mouse button allowing
you to enter in the necessary text.

The text height and rotation angle will be related to the length of line segment you set as a guideline. Once the text layer is complete, remember to save it by right clicking on the map and selecting Save Layer As.
