Copy, Cut, and Paste Map Objects

You may want to reuse a map object that you've drawn or imported. For example, you can copy drawings of fault traces, or circles showing the affected radius around well locations. Use the Map Drawing menu to cut, copy, and paste objects on your map.

Once you've drawn a circle or polygon, or imported a map overlay, you can make copies of those objects and move them around on the map. Follow these steps:

  1. Click on the Map Selection toolbar to make map objects selectable.
  2. Right-click on the object you want to cut or copy.
  3. Select one of the following options from the menu:
Option Description
Cut Remove the currently selected object from the Map window, and send the object to the clipboard.
Copy Make a copy of the currently selected map object, and send the object to the clipboard.
Paste

Copy the image currently on your clipboard onto the Map window.
