Quick Contours

Mark contours on your map by right-clicking on the color palette in the Map window and selecting Set Contour Marking from the shortcut menu. The Set Contouring Values dialog box opens. View image

This dialog box has the following options:

• Number of Contour Lines: This is the number of contour lines that will be evenly distributed along the length of the color set.
• Starting Value of the First Color: This is the starting value for the first contour.
• Contour Value Increment for Each Color: This is the increment of the contours.
• Degree of Contour Smoothing: This is the degree of smoothing to be applied to the contours. It can be set to None, Low, and High.
• Feathering to Remove Tightly Placed Contour: Feathering removes contours where contours are tightly placed. It can be set to None, Low, Med, and High.

For example, number of contour lines = 20, starting value = 1310, increment = 2. ProductName will place 20 markers on the color set beginning with a marker at 1310. The next marker will be placed at 1312.

Turn contour marking off by setting the Number of contour lines to 0 or select Edit Map Draw Order and disable 3D Contour.
