Turn On Fence Mode

In the Fence toolbar, click to turn on the Fence mode.

When you are in this mode, the Map window's Status bar will read FENCE followed by (2D), (3D), or (WELL), depending on which fence mode you are using.

As you move your cursor across the map, the Status bar also displays shotpoints, 2D line, in-line, cross-line, and well names.
