Work with Layers on the Map

In addition to working with layers in the Layer Manager, you can also work with layers directly on the map.

Select a map layer

Follow these steps to open the options for a layer on the map:

  1. On the Map Selection toolbar click the button.
  2. Hover your cursor over the layer item that you want to select. If your cursor is over more than one layer, it changes to an Object Overlay icon.
  3. Click on the item. A shortcut menu displays for each layer at the location.

Map layer options

The options available for a layer depend on what kind of layer it is.

Layer Type Option Description
Well Spot Well UWI Open the well in the Edit Well Spot dialog box.
Seismic Open Seismic Open the seismic in a new Seismic window.
Seismic Line number Select one of the lines listed and open the seismic in a new Seismic window.
