Polarity
Reversal
Polarity reversals can be applied to an individual seismic line or to
a seismic line segment within a fence
display.
Applying a polarity reversal
- Right-click on the seismic line you wish to adjust
and select from
the shortcu menu. This will reverse the polarity of the seismic. To restore
the seismic to its original polarity, re-select .
- You can also make polarity changes by selecting
. The Tie with Diagnostics dialog box allows you to adjust band-pass filtering,
bulk shift, phase rotation, and amplitude scaling from the same
window as polarity reversals. It also allows you to observe the effect
of the polarity reversal on the cross-correlation analysis if you open
the Complete with Diagnostics dialog box from a fence display.
- An R
will appear on the status bar of your seismic window when the displayed
seismic is in reverse polarity.
- No changes are made to your original data. The
polarity reversal is stored in the header file and applied to the seismic
for display, plotting, and export.
