Line
Ties - Overview
WinPICS line
tie functions
You can use WinPICS to perform the following line-tie functions:
- Interactive band-pass filter, bulk shift, phase rotation, amplitude scaling, and polarity reversal corrections. These corrections can be made from a single
window by selecting the tie with diagnostics function;
- Graphical and statistical cross-correlation analysis to better
estimate bulk shift, phase, amplitude, and polarity corrections needed
to tie your seismic lines.
- Power and phase spectral analysis to better estimate band-pass filter, bulk shift, phase, amplitude,
and polarity corrections needed to tie your seismic lines.
- Wavelet matching to apply an operator to your active seismic line to tie it with the reference seismic line. This is particularly useful for applying non-linear phase corrections.
Opening Line Tie Functions
You have the following options:
- Examine your line ties by creating a fence display of the line segments.
- Right-click on the seismic line segment you wish
to adjust and select one of the following options:
- Tie
with Diagnostics (or press <t>
on your keyboard).
- Bulk Shift
- Amplitude ScaleFactor
- Phase Rotation
- Reverse Polarity
Tie with Diagnostics allows you to apply band-pass filter, bulk shift, amplitude scaling, phase
rotation, and polarity reversals from the same
window. It also allows you to access the cross-correlation analysis, spectral
analysis, and the wavelet matching functions.
- Line
tie functions can be applied to an individual line or to a 3D data area
without creating a fence display. Line tie diagnostics functions (cross-correlation
analysis, spectral analysis, and wavelet matching), however, are only
available from a fence display.
