Band-pass
Filter
Band-pass filtering can be applied
to an individual seismic line or to a seismic line within a fence
display for line tie purposes.
Use the Band-pass Filter Function
- Right-click on the seismic line you wish to band-pass
filter and select
from the shortcut menu (or press <t>
on your keyboard). If you opened the Tie
with Diagnostics window from a fence display, you can use the cross-correlation
analysis or spectral analysis to analyze your line tie.
- Select one of the following filters;
- Ormsby Wavelet
- Ricker Wavelet
- Butterworth Wavelet
- Klauder Wavelet
- After modifying the Filter Parameters, click <Apply> to view changes.
- Click <OK>
to exit and save the band-pass filtered corrections on the fly.
Alternatively, click <Cancel> to
exit without applying corrections.
- Band-pass filtering is processed and displayed
on the fly by default. You also have the option to process
a new version of the data. Original versions are opened by right clicking
on the seismic line and selecting SEG-Y
Version. See Version
Names for SEG-Y Data for the naming convention of new versions.
- WinPICS
maintains only one pick file for each line. You may need to re-pick your
data after applying band-pass filtering. Picking on the new version will
replace picks made on previous versions. You can define more than one
horizon name for each horizon and pick each on a different version if
you like.
