In the Fix 2D Coordinate Import window, click <Preview Map Location> to identify 2D coordinate import problems. The following are the most common 2D coordinate import problems:
Misplaced data is the most common cause for problems when previewing your map locations. This happens for one of three reasons:
Click <Back> to examine the source of your coordinate information. If the source information appears correct, examine your format definition. You can do both tasks at once using the Import Wizard to view your source as you refine your format. If trace header information was your source, see the Import Wizard Trace Header Tab. For survey files, see 2D Survey Import.
Labelling problems are due to bad shotpoint numbers in the trace headers or incorrect import format. The procedure is the same as that described for location problems (above). See Auto-Fix Options to find out if the wizard can help overcome trace labelling problems.
Your survey file must have an entry for every trace (see Match by Shotpoint or Trace). The first trace in the file will be matched with the first entry in the survey file. Is your survey file in the same order as the traces?
