How
to Create a Fence Using the Fence Gap Method
If you are attempting to add a well synthetic to a fence that will require
that you to skip over 2D line segments, use the fence gap method.
- To begin
creating a fence, click Enter Fence Mode from the Fence
toolbar (or press <f> on
your keyboard).
- Click Fence Mode, and choose from
the drop down menu (or press <2>
on your keyboard).
- Pass your cursor over the map window. Point to
the end of a 2D line or to an intersection between 2D lines. A circle
is displayed. Click your left mouse to begin the first fence segment.
- Hold down the <Shift>
key and drag the cursor along the 2D line towards the well synthetic you
wish to include.
- Click your left mouse button to end the first
fence segment and release the <Shift>
key.
- Press the <f>
key to create a fence gap.
- Right-click on the map window and select Well Mode from the
shortcut menu (or press <w>
on your keyboard). Left-click on the well symbol to include the synthetic
in your fence.
- Press <f>
again to create a second fence gap.
- Hold down the <Shift>
key, place your cursor at the end of the first line segment, and left
click.
- Release the <Shift>
key, then drag the cursor along the 2D line and left click at the end
or at the intersection of the 2D line.
- After you have finished defining your fence, click
Display Fence and
choose (or
press <D> on your keyboard)
to display the fence in a new or existing
seismic window.
- By default, WinPICS will only
display on the synthetic panels those tops that have a cross-referenced
horizon To
display all imported tops on the synthetic panel, select from the
menu bar.
