Annotations Tab

Use the Annotations tab to select labelling preferences for elements in your Map view. WinPICS saves the preferences as defaults for this project. View image

This tab has the following options:

Annotations - This window lists the label formats WinPICS can display in the Map view. These formats correspond to elements you can post to your map. When you select a label format from this list, the rest of the sections of this tab display Annotation Settings for this format. Change the selections in those other sections to revise the label format.
Size Mode - Select a mode for the label font size. Labels can be a fixed size, or they can be variable.

Option	Description
Fix	Sets the labels to a fixed font size, regardless of the zoom level of the map. The fixed size matches the size you set in the Size field of this tab.
Variable	Sets your labels to resize as you change the zoom level of the map. As you zoom in, the labels get correspondingly larger, and as you zoom out they get correspondingly smaller. When you select this option, WinPICS opens new options in the Variable Type section of this tab.

Variable Type - You have the following options:

Option	Description
Minimum	Sets the font to the smallest size you have used in the project. Opens new options in the Variable Type section of this tab.
Desired	Sets the font to the last size you selected in this project.
Maximum	Sets the font to the largest size you have used in this project.

Minimum Style - Select the style for the Minimum Variable Type:

Option	Description
Clip	Annotation is reduced in size as you zoom in on map.
Collapse	Annotation collapses towards middle of map as you zoom in.

Font - Select a font for your label.
Font Style - Select a font style for your label.
Size - Select a font size for your label.
Color - Select a color for your label.
To make a well value label stand out an a map with a lot of wells, set the well value color different from the well spot color.
Sample - Displays a sample of your label text with the current settings.
Scale - If you selected Variable as your Size Mode, and Desired as your VariableType, this field displays the scale of your text in the Map view.
