Map Tab

Use the Map tab to select display preferences for items in your Map view. WinPICS will save the preferences as defaults for this project. View image

This tab has the following options:

Type a default map scale for your project. The scale will use the unit you set in the Set Seismic Datum dialog box.

Select smoothing options for your horizon, grid, or time slice.

You have two choices for displaying depth on your map.

2D Seismic Line Display

Follow these steps to set default parameters for posting consistency slices to your map:

  1. In the Window field, type the time window in milliseconds.
  2. In the Neighbours field, select the number of neighboring bins.
  3. In the Mode field, select a statistical measure from the list.

Create Contour - <Edit>

You have the following general display options:

Color Bar

Select to display the color palette in your Map view.

Scroll Bar

Select to display the scroll bar in your Map view.

Auto Insert Synthetics

Select to have WinPICS display synthetics in your seismic.

All Horizons Contact Points

Select to display the contact wedge symbol at all contact points.

Select the Black Symbol check box to display a symbol at every slice intersection on your map. You can change the size of the symbol by typing a new value in the Size field.

Clear this check box if you are working in a region with non-integer locations (For example, the Alberta foothills), and you want WinPICS to post non-integer values on your map.

You can make the background of your GeoTIFF map image transparent in order to make it easier to see pertinent information. Select a color option for the transparency.
