Navigation
You can move through a seismic volume using the following methods:
- Use hot-keys to
quickly move through your seismic volume.
- Switch
between inlines and crosslines - On the Data Navigation toolbar,
select the button or <x>
hot-key to switch to the cross-line direction (or vice versa). Select
the button or <x>
hot-key again to return to the in-line direction. (You can also
right click on the seismic window to open a popup menu and select .) The position of your cursor
on the in-line when you hit the <x>
hot-key determines which cross-line will open in the seismic window.
Read the status bar in the lower left-hand corner of the seismic window
to determine the exact in-line/cross-line position of the cursor.
- Step
through your seismic volume - On the Data Navigation toolbar, use
the Next \ Previous buttons
or <+> and <->
keys to display adjacent in-lines/cross-lines.
- Change
the step increment - Increase
the step rate by selecting the Change
Step button on the Data Navigation toolbar,or by typing a number between 1 and
9. For example, if you type ‘5’, every fifth line is displayed as you
step through the seismic with the Next
\ Previous buttons
or <+> and <->
keys.
- Move
to the first or last inline/cross-line - To move to the first in-line or cross-line, on the menu bar select,
or press the number <0> hot-key.

to the last in-line/cross-line, select .
- - Select to step through the seismic in a radius around the center point. Read more
- If you want to view your
3D data without accidentally re-picking your horizon as you step through
your volume, you can press the <Alt> + <v> hot-key to disable volume picking.
