Import Wizard - Overview

Use the Import Wizard dialog box to quickly and reliably load any SEG-Y data into your WinPICS project. The Import Wizard provides a lot of flexibility in dealing with most SEG-Y file import problems, such as missing x/y coordinates or shotpoints. Read more about the Import Wizard's features.

Getting Started

Prepare your files for SEG-Y import. Read more. The following are tips you can follow to prepare your data for import:

For quick and easy import, have your processor save your SEG-Y files in the Divestco Workstation-Ready SEG-Y format. This way you can load your SEG-Y files almost automatically. Read more.

Make sure you have all the requirements for SEG-Y import before getting started. Read more.

For maximum efficiently, import your 2D data in batches. Read more.

From the Application toolbar select | Import Seismic (SEGY) to open the Open SEGY Files dialog box.
Select the SEG-Y source file(s) and click <Open> to proceed to the Import Wizard: View SEGY File, which will display the ASCII Header of the first SEG-Y file.
