Create
a Fence in Well Mode
Use Well Mode in conjunction with the 2D or 3D modes to overlay synthetic
data on 2D or 3D seismic, respectively.
- If you use All
Mode, you can switch between selecting lines and wells without
needing to use the shortcut menu or hot-keys to change the mode.
To overlay well synthetics on your seismic, follow the same steps for
selecting lines in 2D Mode or 3D Mode.
However, when your cursor is over the well you want to include, follow
these steps to include the synthetic into your fence:
- In 2D Mode, if the well is not
adjacent to your 2D line, hold the <Shift>
key while left-clicking to select the well. Continue holding the <Shift> key and left-click back
on the 2D line. If this does not work, try using the Fence
Gap Method.
- Right-click over the well to open a shortcut menu,
and select (or press <w>
on your keyboard).
- Left-click on the well symbol to include the well
and the adjacent line segment in the fence display.
- Place your cursor back on the 2D line and left-click
to continue defining the fence on the 2D line.
- After you select the well, the selector will automatically snap to the
closest 2D shotpoint in any direction from the well. You can configure
this automatic Well / 2D line selection function on the Seismic
tab of the Project
Preferences dialog box (in the Seismic
Well Projection section).
- By default, WinPICS
will only display on the synthetic panels
those tops that have a cross-referenced horizon. If you want to display
all imported tops on the synthetic panel, select
from the Seismic window's Seismic
menu bar.
