The duplicated data treatment allows you to specify how to grid an area where two or more input data points fall at the same location. Click <More Options> in the Gridding window. A new window will open. Click the down arrow in the lower left-hand corner of the window under Duplicated Data Treatment to view the list of available options (3D and 2D options will only appear when both data types are being used):
The default Minimum distance for two separate points is 1/10 of the grid spacing. If the distance between two points is less than 1/10 of the grid spacing, then the two points are considered duplicates. You can set a new Minimum distance for two separate points based on the distribution of your input data locations.
