Event
Type
The event type for a horizon
determines how auto picking, lateral
picking, and volume picking place your picks on traces. There are six event types:
- Peak (Local
maxima with positive amplitudes.)
- Trough (Local
minima with negative amplitudes)
- Zero -+ (Zero crossing
from negative to positive)
- Zero +- (Zero crossing
from positive to negative)
- Manual
- Sticky
The manual and sticky event types are both manual
force modes. Horizons defined as manual can only be picked using the manual picking mode.
Horizons defined as sticky can only be picked using the sticky picking mode. Faults always have a manual event type.
Setting the Event Type
- On the Layer Manager bar, click the Horizons tab.
- Right-click on a horizon, or fault and select from the shortcut menu.
- In the Edit Properties dialog box, locate the event you want to edit, and double-click
its value under the Event column
for the horizon of interest. This will run you through a list of event types.
