Color
Palettes
The color appearance of your map and seismic windows are controlled
by color sets, which are stored
in your WinPICS Profiles directory
(C:\WinPICS Profiles) with a ‘.CS’ extension.
WinPICS provides several color sets that are easily customized
to suit your interpretation needs.
Turn on a color palette
In the Map window or the Seismic window, select the menu option . A colored bar will display on the right side of the window. This is the color palette.
Open color palette functions
- Right-click on the color
palette in your Map window or Seismic window to open a menu with color
set options.

Profiles directory (C:\WinPICS
Profiles). When you select Open
CSet, WinPICS will automatically
open your Profiles directory.
The default color sets for your map and
seismic display are ‘Amapcolr.cs’ and ‘Default.cs’, respectively. If you
wish to change the default color set, you need to save your new color
set under these same names.
