Auto-Insert
and Display Synthetics in Seismic Lines or Fences
Follow these steps to use the Auto
Insert Mode to automatically insert synthetics into 3D in-lines,
cross-lines, 2D Lines, and fences, and then overlay those synthetics on
your seismic:
- Click from the Fence
toolbar to turn on Auto Insert Mode.
The icon will appear shaded .
- Create a fence in All
Mode, 2D Mode, or 3D Mode; or open a 3D in-line,
cross-line, or 2D seismic line
from the Map
window. WinPICS will insert into
your seismic line or fence all the synthetics that fall within the project's
seismic well projection radius, and it will automatically open the Seismic window to
display your line or fence. View image
- In the Seismic
window's Display
Mode toolbar, click to turn on the synthetic
display to see the seismic overlay. As well, you will also see the
names of the tops from the synthetic (listed on the seismic next to the
synthetic), which should match with the names of the horizons from the
seismic (listed on the left and right side of the Seismic
window). You can use this information to help you to stretch
and squeeze the synthetic until it lines up with the seismic. View image
- Read more about overlaying synthetics
on seismic.

Insert Mode. Simply click the cursor on each well you want to add,

to your fence.
